Ahhhh! I am so excited to share this website launch with you all :)
One of the best parts about teaching is the amazing community of teachers sharing ideas and professional learning. I'm hoping we can all learn a little bit from each other!
WHO AM I?
Before this whole thing really kicks off next week, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
My name is Jessica and you might know me as Mme Stairs from Instagram or Parfait en première année from TPT. I am a French immersion teacher in Ottawa, Ontario. This will be my ninth year teaching and I've taught everything from Kinder to Grade 6, but my heart really lies in Grade 1.
I just recently completed my Masters of Education from the University of Ottawa and my main focus was researching more inclusive practices for English language learners in French immersion. I've been trial and error-ing some of these ideas in my classroom and I can't wait to share the results with you soon!
I love cycling and hiking in the summer and skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. Basically, I just like to be outside! I haven't skated in years, but that is my goal for this upcoming winter. I even bought skates, so there's no backing out now...lol. I would spend my whole summer at a cottage or camping if I could!
I am a passionate coffee drinker, but I like my coffee to be seasonally appropriate - hot in the winter and iced in the summer. My partner Jon does beat out my trusty Nespresso in terms of love, but it was a close race!
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM ME?
My goal is to share some of the successes and many failures I've experienced in the classroom. A big part of teaching is being a life-long learner and I love sharing what I've learned and continuing to learn from other teachers at the same time. I will be sharing resources that I've created for my own classroom and telling you how I use them with my students.
Also, I'll be sharing some FREEBIES on a pretty regular basis for those who want to sign up to my mailing list. Who doesn't love free resources?
I will be posting new content every TUESDAY, so look for that early next week. I hope you continue to keep reading my posts and that we can continue to learn from each other!
